Press Settings
Quick reference for pressing everything we sell. When in doubt, test on a scrap first — and keep a teflon sheet or parchment between the press and your transfer.
DTF Transfers
- 300°F for 10 seconds with a teflon sheet on top
- Let it cool completely — especially small detail pieces — then peel
- Repress 10 seconds with the teflon sheet to matte out the transfer and set it into the fabric
Rhinestone Transfers
- 300°F for 10 seconds, using a pressing pillow
- Rub the design down while it cools, repress, then re-rub
- Cold peel — only remove the front sheet once completely cool
Smooth HTV (Siser EasyWeed)
- 305–320°F for 10–15 seconds, medium pressure
- Preheat the garment 2–3 seconds first to drive out moisture
Reflective HTV
- 300–320°F for 10–12 seconds, medium pressure
- Care: turn the garment inside out, machine wash cool or warm (under 140°F), line dry
Other materials
Glitter, Twinkle, Stretch, Flock, Metallic, Holographic, Electric, Brick and 3D Puff each have their own sweet spot — ask us in store, check the manufacturer insert that ships with your order, or send us a message and we'll tell you exactly how to press it.
General rules: always test on scrap when trying a new blank, don't stack seams or zippers under the platen, and when layering HTV, tack each layer for 2–3 seconds and only full-press the final layer.
